The Holy Scripture
"All Scripture is God-breathed" (1 Tim. 3:16)

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God that is accurate, reliable, and authoritative.  The Bible is God's special revelation to humanity that reveals His power, purpose, plan, and character.

Jesus Christ
Christ is God in the flesh

We believe Jesus Christ is God in human flesh (Col. 1:15; Heb. 1:2-3).  We believe He has always existed, and all things were created by Him, through Him, and for Him (Jn. 1:1-2; Col. 1:17).  We believe Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was killed on a cross as the sacrifice for sin, was resurrected after three days, and ascended into heaven.  We also await Him to return to earth to establish His Kingdom.

The Trinity
God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe God is one completely united being composed of three distinct persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  God has always existed as the Trinity and is perfectly loving and just.

What's the problem with the world?
"All have sinned" (Rm. 3:23)

God created humanity to be in a relationship with Himself, but sin separates humanity from God.  The problem with the world is sin.  Sin is disobedience against God which brings the consequence of pain, sorrow, and death (Rm. 5:12).  Everyone has sinned against God, from the first humans until now, and all deserve death.

What is God's solution to the problem?
The cross of Jesus Christ

Anyone who places his or her faith in Jesus Christ by believing in His deity, death, and resurrection and confessing Him as Lord of his or her life shall be saved from eternal death in hell, and he or she shall receive eternal life in heaven (Jn. 3:16; Rm. 10:9-10).

What is the Church?
The body and bride of Christ

The church is the local assembly of like-minded believers in Christ.  We believe the church is the body and bride of Christ of which He leads and loves.  Harmony Baptist Church is a conservative Southern Baptist church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, South Carolina Baptist Convention, and the Lexington Baptist Association.

Our Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its group worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We also commit to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to live our lives in good Christian behavior and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. We further commit to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay. We moreover commit that if Harmony Baptist Church disbands, then we will unite with some other church as soon as possible, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
